Report of the meeting of the Parish Council of Castle Hedingham held on Monday, 14th September 2009 issued by the Clerk

Parish Priorities -  The Parish Council priorities for 2010 on were agreed as: 1. Provision and control of a playing space and facilities in the village. 2.  Establishment of a public building for both use and promotion of the village.  3. Provision of allotments and greater self sufficiency/sustainability.  4.  Maintenance and enhancement of village appearance.  5.  Promotion of local employment.

Parking in Falcon Square - A letter will be sent to residents and users of the square seeking their co-operation to address parking problems specifically parking that obstruct emergency vehicle access.

Crime - The community speed watch programme identified serious problems with speeding, particularly on the Sudbury Hill into the village.  Further options including opportunity for the installation of a fixed speed camera or mobile enforcement speed checks are to be investigated.

Weed Spraying in the village - The Parish Council carefully considered a range of options but did not consider, due to legal, H&S, and cost considerations, that it could take on or change Essex County Councils current programme of weed spraying designed to properly maintain pavements and highways.

Next Meeting: 14th October 2009.
