Report of the meeting of the Parish Council of Castle Hedingham held on Monday, 14th October 2009 issued by the Clerk

Parking in Falcon Square: A letter has now been sent to residents of the square seeking their co-operation to address parking problems, especially where parking can obstruct emergency vehicle access.  The residents have been asked for their views on tackling parking problems in the square.

Crime: The police have reported a significant reduction in crime over the late summer/early autumn with three incidents reported including a burglary at the church.  The police have asked that any matter/incident of concern be reported to them even if seemingly trivial.  They have made the point that this reporting can assist in both the prevention and detection of crime.

Highways: Following a productive meeting involving Essex County Council and neighbouring parishes, consensus on changes to the 7.5 metric tonne vehicle weight restriction has been reached.  The intention is to shorten the extent of road(s) with the weight restriction which should both improve compliance and make policing the restriction more effective. Essex County Highways will now proceed with further necessary consultations and actions.

Next Meeting: 18th November 2009.
