Report of the meeting of the Parish Council of Castle Hedingham held on Wednesday, 26th November 2008 issued by the Clerk

Memorial Hall Window: The stonemason has attended the site and the work has commenced.

Traffic Issues: The speed gun has been repaired and returned and will now be deployed. The Parish Council is to investigate the installation of CCTV cameras in the village to aid compliance with the weight restrictions for vehicles passing through the village.

Churchyard Footpath: A grant to repair this footpath has been made by the Braintree, Witham and Halstead Local Committee

Parish Records: The Essex Records Office has indicated willingness to hold parish records that are of historical interest and therefore this parish will take such records to the Essex Record Office.  The parish detailed cemetery map is in a poor state and is to be taken to the Essex Record Office for restoration work.

War Memorial:  The Parish Council is to investigate options to restore the memorial.

Post Office: The Post Office has said that it wishes to continue with a post office provision in the village. The Parish Council has sought a meeting with the Post Office to determine how this objective is to be achieved.

Footpaths: The Parish Council has received a detailed map of footpaths in the parish.  Options for making it freely available are being explored.

Maintenance of highways: Gully and drain jet cleaning work has been carried out.

Crime: Following reports of general rowdiness in the public park at New Park the police have increased patrols in this area.
