Parking in Falcon Square - An improvement has been noted in the parking in Falcon Square and it has not been necessary to leave notices on any cars to date.
Noxious smells from pumping station at Nunnery Street - Anglian Water has provided the Parish Council with details of the function of the pumping station and also of recent repair works carried out to the pumping station. They confirmed that there were no leakages into the environment. In view of the odour complaints, an odour logger will be installed in March 2010 for a period of two weeks and the results will be reported to the Parish Council.
Budget - The Castle Hedingham Parish Council Tax will be reduced by 1.23% per household from 1st April 2010.
National Grid Power Lines Proposal - Castle Hedingham Parish Council has informed NationalGrid that they object to the overhead lines and strongly prefer to have the new network installed below ground. They have expressed no preference for a specific route.
Speed and Volume Check – Sudbury Road - A speed check was performed near Rosemary Lane on 15th January 2010. The check revealed that the average speeds of 85% of the traffic were between 46.2 and 47.5 mph. These are above nationally set intervention limits and Essex County Council Highways will be contacting Essex Police to see if they have resources to carry out enforcement at this location.
