Castle Hedingham Parish Council and Burial Board

Report of the meeting of the Parish Council of Castle Hedingham held on Wednesday, 13th February 2008 issued by the Clerk

Churchyard Wall – Mr Cooke had met with the Historic Buildings Advisor who agreed the wall needs urgent attention.  This does not require planning permission  but does requires a faculty to be granted by the Diocese.  Mr Cooke had drawn up a specification for the works and agreed to get quotations.  Once received an application for a faulty will be submitted to the Diocese.  It was agreed that a sign be placed on the wall warning parishioners of its condition.  Mr Southgate agreed to distribute flyers with this information to residents of Church Lane and Church Ponds.

Planning Recommendations

The Parish Council has no objections to the following applications: 08/00060/TPOCON – carry out works to trees - St James House, 40 St James Street, Castle Hedingham and  Application 08/00044/FUL – Creation of hardstanding for two no. vehicles - 36 Nunnery Street, Castle Hedingham.

Application 08/00047/FUL – Conversion of existing garage including demolition and construction to provide ancillary accommodation - Rushley Green Farm, Rushley Green, Castle Hedingham - What is “ancillary accommodation?”  This to all effects is another separate property (2 bedroom detached) and surely the application must be considered in this light.  Rebuild as garage to go with existing accommodation is okay; separate house would have objections. This summary of Planning sub committee comments had been submitted to Braintree District Council and was approved by the Parish Council.

Application 08/00149/TPOCON – Carry out works to trees - The Old Vicarage, Queen Street, Castle Hedingham – No objections as long as it is only a trim.

Planning Appeal 07/02283/FUL & 07/02284/LBC – Conversion of youth hostel into two dwellings, demolition of outbuildings and formation of two new dwellings within cartilage - 7 Falcon Square, Castle Hedingham -  It was agreed to reiterate the Parish Council objections to this application.

Application 08/00233/FUL – Erection of new dwelling and garage - Land adjacent to 13 Bayley Street, Castle Hedingham  -  This application had only just been received.  It was agreed to hold a special meeting to consider the application on Monday 25th February 2008 at 7.45 in Castle Hedingham Club.

Garden Waste - Garden waste collections will take place on 15th March, 19th April, 24th May, 28th June, 23rd August, 27th September and 25th October at 10.04 – 10.45 in Kirby Hall Road.
