Filming - The filming which was due to take place within the village has collapsed due to the proposed backer.
Kissing gates - These are to be installed at Scotch Pasture Grove.
Repair of the Churchyard Wall - This will commence on 19th August. 2008; the Parish Council hopes residents will not be inconvenienced too much.
Wheelie bins - Braintree District Council have consulted the Parish Council in regard to the introduction of wheelie bins into the Parish. All parishioners who will be using these bins will have been notified by letter. Properties in the centre of the village and those with difficult access will remain on the old black bin system. Parishioners who have concerns should contact customer services at Braintree District Council.
Weight restrictions - It was noted by a member of the public and concurred by the Parish Council that not enough notice is being taken of weight restrictions within the village and in particular in respect of traffic coming from the Sudbury direction. Essex County Council Highways will be approached to assist in enforcing this restriction.
The Village Design Statement - This is accepted by the Parish Council and Braintree District Council. The Statement will be launched by Sir Alan Haselhurst on Thursday, 28th August at St Nicholas Church at 7.30pm. All parishioners are welcome to attend.

Appl. 08/01405/LBC The Dower House, Bailey Street. Installation of 2 roof lights
Appl 08/01270/FUL Colne Valley Railway. Erection of two sheds.
Trees in Conservation Area Planning:
Appl. 08/01538/TPOCON An application to carry out work on trees at in Conservation Area, 6 Castle Lane.
Street Lighting - The annual visit and lighting maintenance had beencompleted in New Park
No Waiting Restrictions - Notification has been received from Highways that these will be introduced in the near future at New Park, Castle Hedingham, south side from a point in line with the property boundaries of nos. 49 and 50, west then north, then east to the western property boundary of no. 46 around the turning head, a distance of approximately 52 metres; also in Nunnery Street north side, from its junction with Kirby Hall Road, in both a westerly and easterly direction for a distance of approximately 24 metres (which is a change from the current 15 metres).
Roadworks - It was noted by the Parish Council that work has started on the Nunnery Street bridge to enable safer pedestrian access, particularly in view of the number of children attending the local schools. The Parish Council were concerned about lack of notification received from Essex County Council about the work to be carried out.
